The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory accuracy and efficiency using an ERP system. This role involves tracking, recording, and managing inventory levels while ensuring the quality and flow of incoming and outgoing parts meet company standards. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

What You’ll Do:  

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using the company’s ERP system.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with system records.
  • Handle receiving of parts, ensuring accurate documentation and timely entry into the ERP system.
  • Inspect the quality of incoming parts to confirm they meet company standards and specifications.
  • Manage rejections of non-conforming parts and coordinate resolutions with suppliers.
  • Maintain and oversee the KanBan system to ensure efficient inventory replenishment and flow.
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments and verify accuracy against purchase orders and ERP entries.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure proper stock flow and availability.
  • Spot-check consumables to monitor usage, track stock levels, and ensure availability.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts and investigate variances.
  • Generate reports and analyze data within the ERP system to support forecasting and procurement decisions.
  • Use computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, and email) to document and communicate inventory status.
  • Order materials for production jobs and manufacturing. This includes consumables, job materials, and tools.
  • Optimize inventory storage practices to maximize space and minimize waste.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures for inventory management.
  • All other duties assigned.

Who You Are:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related role.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in inventory management.
  • Advanced experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) a plus.
  • Forklift certification or experience handling warehouse equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or just-in-time inventory practices preferred.
